Medical disclaimer

Still is a self-directed educational program built on cognitive behavioral and mindfulness techniques used in clinical treatment for alcohol use. It is not medical treatment, it is not therapy, and it is not a substitute for professional care.

If you experience physical symptoms when you stop drinking — including shaking, sweating, racing heart, nausea, hallucinations, or seizures — stopping suddenly on your own can be dangerous and in some cases life-threatening. You need medically supervised detox. Please contact a doctor or call the SAMHSA National Helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357) before attempting to stop.

The intake assessment uses the WHO’s validated AUDIT screener plus additional safety questions to identify users for whom this program is not appropriate. If you are routed to medical resources at the end of the intake, please take that routing seriously.

If you are currently in crisis or experiencing thoughts of self-harm, please call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

The educational content in this program is drawn from publicly available clinical protocols including the NIAAA Project MATCH Cognitive Behavioral Coping Skills Therapy Manual, the work of Monti and colleagues on coping skills training, and Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention developed by Bowen, Chawla, and Marlatt. None of the authors or institutions cited have endorsed this particular product.
